Located just 6 km from the charming town of Covasna, this guesthouse is nestled within a sprawling 500-hectare private domain in the picturesque area of Zabala. Here, you’ll discover a peaceful world of meadows and forests, complete with two serene lakes and four fishing ponds.

This historic property, owned by a noble Transylvanian family, revolves around a majestic 16th-century castle and four charming annex buildings. Stay connected with free Wi-Fi throughout the estate. With seven unique dining areas—two outside, two on terraces, and three indoors—you’ll have plenty of options. The main dining and drawing rooms, a short 250-meter stroll from the main building, are housed in the beautifully renovated old stables, right on the other side of a tranquil pond. Families will also appreciate the garden, which features a lovely children’s playground.

The estate offers an à la carte restaurant, and for a special treat, breakfast in bed can be arranged for an extra charge. Enjoy food and drinks in your room, the seasonal pavilion in the woods, or the private park.

While the estate’s oldest building dates back to the 16th century, it was lovingly modernized in the 19th century under the vision of Benedek Mikes. During the Communist era, it served as a preventorium and psychiatric institute, but today it has been fully restored to its former glory.

The Zabola Estate’s Castle Park is a true sanctuary, featuring seven historical buildings, shimmering lakes, and over 100 species of trees. The vast Carpathian Mountain Conservation Area is home to an abundance of wildlife, including deer, wild boar, bears, wolves, and lynx. In fact, a 50 km radius around Zabola encompasses over a million hectares of pristine Carpathian forests! This natural sanctuary is also a haven for storks, great blue herons, squirrels, owls, and many other small animals. The estate welcomes you to explore this wilderness in a respectful and careful way.
