The 17th century wall paintings discovered in the castle are of outstanding historic importance, portraying the key milestones in the political and social ascent of the Daniel family.
The painting that inspired the name of the room is depicting the paying of the tribute to the Ottoman Empire by the Principality of Transylvania.
In the background we see the towers of Constantinople, and in the front the ambassador (supposedly count Daniel) bowing before the sultan, beneath him the coffer filled with money-bags.
Being an ambassador to such important state affair was a great honor, so no surprise the Daniels had the event painted.

Similar atmosphere must have welcomed the homecoming Daniel Mihaly, one of the prominent landlords in the history of the castle.
Daniel Mihaly II had a prominent military career, serving under Apafi Mihaly, Prince of Transylvania.
Count Daniel Mihaly, and his wife Haller Judit were the ones mostly defining the current aspect of the castle through massive construction works carried out in the year 1669.
This is when the large carved-stone coat of arms on the forefront of the castle was created, along with the carved-stone doorframe at the main entrance, carrying the owners’ initials and the year 1669.
The room inspired by countess Haller Judit reflects her character: between the sturdiness of wooden timbers, the coldness of glass we’ve slipped in the romanticism of a dressing table, soft textiles, and feminine bathroom.
